Looking after your mental health is most important when you’re home & COVID-19 Positive

Pandemic has changed the way of living, everyone is surrounded by the threat of covid-19. As everyone was trying to be back on track and live a normal life, Omicron, a new variant of covid-19 was found, which brought the terror of coronavirus back into people’s life.

 

Most people are infected because of the virus. If you are infected and isolated at home, staying lonely can affect your mental health, to avoid such a condition, it’s crucial to look after your mental health and take some extraordinary steps to keep yourself calm while fighting with coronavirus.

 

  • Proper Medication: As you are covid-19 positive, the first and foremost thing you need to do is to keep track of the symptoms. You can track by checking your temperature regularly and manage other symptoms like body pain, sore throat by taking prescribed medicines on time.

 

  • Take good care of yourself: Another crucial thing is to take overall care of your body by:
  • Maintaining a healthy diet and avoiding oily and greasy food
  • Intake a surplus amount of fluids, especially when you have a fever.
  • Avoid exercise for at least ten days

 

  • Practice deep breathing and mindfulness: You can practice deep breathing after consulting a doctor as it helps in the proper functioning of the lungs and also helps to keep yourself calm when you are in isolation. Mindfulness is a type of meditation that helps you to cope with anxiety in isolation.

 

  • Find distractions: Do different things and find out the best thing you enjoy and that keep you distracted from the pain. You can read books, binge-watch movies/series, or make some crafts.

 

  • Stay connected: You are in isolation which can make you frustrated. To keep your mind calm, you can stay connected with your friends and family through calls and social media.

 

  • Avoid watching the news: News channels are filled with covid news, which can make you sad and can also affect your mental health. So, it’s better to stay away from watching or scrolling the news for some days.

 

Some tips to follow when coping up

 

  • Avoid alcohol and other addictive things.
  • Avoid oily, greasy foods for days till you recover properly.
  • Take a covid-19 test and get a negative report.

 

 

Conclusion: As you know, recovery takes time. Therefore, when you are in isolation, try to be positive and make yourself do the things that make you happy and at the same time keep you distracted from worry and pain.
